In about an hour, anyone can learn to stop life-threatening bleeding.
STOP THE BLEED® is the official bleeding control program of the U.S. Department of War. As a public safety program, it teaches people how to act in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
It started with soldiers. Service members were taught to control severe bleeding, then used those skills in Iraq and Afghanistan to save one another, showing that people without medical backgrounds could act in time. They brought that knowledge home. Today the Program teaches it to everyone, so that bleeding control can become an everyday public safety skill.
